COMPANION DIOCESE of GUYANA
The Rt Rev. Randolph George retired December 31, 2008
Companions walk together, side by side. They share their experiences and their visions. They support each other in their mission and rejoice in all that God has created. By the end of their five-year journey, they are enriched and transformed by the mutual appreciation of their gifts. Now each has more to give, and may continue to receive from new companions in an ongoing journey of faith.
The Diocese of Guyana became a companion diocese with our diocese in the year 2000. The purpose of a Companion Diocese relationship is:
interdependence across cultural and geographical boundaries within the Body of Christ; and
partner is both giver and receiver

PRAYER FOR THE ELECTION OF A BISHOP "O God our Maker, stir, guide and inspire the hearts and minds of those in our Church family who will gather to choose a new chief pastor for us. Give us a sense of joy and hope, vision and discernment, love and compassion as we seek to do your will. Raise up, we pray, the bishop which you know we need; the bishop whose gifts and aspirations may find their full expression and fulfillment in invigorating the life and mission of our diocese; a bishop who will grow with us, share with us, learn with us, and lead us in the renewal of Your Church here in this time and place; for the sake of Jesus Christ the Lord . Amen."
