Re: Incumbent,  Parish of All Saints

Rector, Parish of All Saints, Diocese of Saskatoon

Anglican Church of Canada Diocese of Saskatoon

The Rt. Rev. Rodney Andrews

The Bishop of Saskatoon invites applications for the position of Rector of All Saints Church, Saskatoon. All Saints is a family sized congregation with a parish list of 76 households. The atmosphere is in the reverent Anglo-Catholic tradition; the parish uses the Book of Common Prayer and the Book of Common Praise (1938) at all regular services. The parish is seeking a Rector with "a strong background in theology and a sound knowledge of sacred music, including chanting".

There are two services each Sunday and a midweek service. Members of the parish know one another well and participate in several social events during the year. The parish supports several outreach projects. A few parishioners are active members of the Prayer Book Society of Canada. An honorary assistant is a professor at the College of Emmanuel and St. Chad.

The parish has a high expectation that the rector will visits the parishioners, bringing sacramental and pastoral care.

The church buildings and the rectory are in good repair. The church has a fine pipe organ, and enjoys the services of a skilled organist and deputies.

The Rectory is a pleasant two story house conveniently close to the church. The parish is willing to consider selling the rectory and providing a housing allowance. The successful candidate should expect to reside in the Rectory. The parish finances are healthy.

The church is within easy commuting distance of the University of Saskatchewan and downtown Saskatoon. Saskatoon, a city with a population of 214,000, is experiencing growth and offers many social, cultural, and educational opportunities (http://www.tourismsaskatoon.com).

This position will be of interest to traditional clergy who are committed to a teaching and pastoral ministry and the use of the Book of Common Prayer. Those with one successful incumbency and good references will be considered. Clergy in the Diocese of Saskatoon work collegially and in support of diocesan ministries and policies. All clergy are expected to attend deanery meetings, Diocesan Synod, an annual clergy retreat, a clergy conference every other year, and to participate in Diocesan Council if elected.
